I used to hate the autumn. It meant the end of warm weather and death to many of my favorite plants, however; when I moved to Albuquerque, it became my favorite time of the year! One of the things about Albuquerque that impressed me most when I moved here eight years ago was the bosque and Albuquerque’s various open spaces. We’ve taken many walks along the bosque and are always astounded by the abundance of flora and fauna.

The animal, which has made the biggest impression on me, is the Sandhill Crane. These elegant birds are extremely intriguing and I was thrilled to learn they make Albuquerque their home for part of the year. These wonderful birds have made their way into my heart and into much of my artwork.
