Remainders
I enjoy using “bits and pieces” of stained papers, painted papers and prints to create mixed media collages. I incorporate other media such as pastels, graphite, acrylics, and epoxy resin in my work because it adds another dimension to the piece and additionally allows me to add my own personal touches to the work. The result is unique and just a bit mysterious.
The idea behind this series is to create brand new art from leftovers. The final piece looks nothing like the fragments from which they emerged. This, for me, is very exciting because it is a challenge to marry several oddments, which are worlds apart from each other, to create a pleasing composition which is unified in a completely new form.
