These little paintings, under epoxy resin, are my little snapshots of nature. Many people enjoy the smaller format because you can easily find a place for something of this size; whether it's a tabletop, countertop, shelf or a tiny section of wall. These pieces are each 6 x 6 and sell for $95 each. They will fit practically anywhere!
I enjoy working with this smaller format however; in some ways these are more challenging than my larger work. These little pieces may seem simple since they are so small but, they actually take up to eight steps to complete and, while there is less area to cover, it is often more difficult to work on such a small scale without losing details. Each piece varies in both subject matter and medium and I use various techniques from paper staining to printmaking. Each piece is coated in epoxy resin. Even though the process is long and somewhat arduous at times, the results are worth it: they are like precious, little jewels.
