Biography
I’ve always been drawn to both creating art and working with children. I attended the University of Texas at El Paso earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, both in education. Teaching full time and raising a family didn’t leave much free time and my passion for creating art was put on the back burner until 2010 when we were transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was during that transition that I decided to pursue my interest in becoming a professional artist. For six years I taught art part time while working in my studio but finally gave up teaching completely in order to fully concentrate on creating art. Teaching was a very rewarding career but my second career has been equally fulfilling. I’m following the path I began as a child.

Maintain my studio and business (PKW Fine Art). Paint using various media including watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. Participate in both group and solo exhibitions. Maintain website and social media. Handle bookkeeping and personal sales for my business.

Work with school's staff to ensure the program's success. Teach assigned art curriculum. Create lessons/curriculum as needed. Design pre and post-tests with program director. Prepare materials for lessons. Plan and prepare end-of-session “Student Art Show.”
