Quilted for Life

In this series I am exploring some of the little moments in life.
I’m looking at the things that make us cozy and comfortable, like our favorite, worn out, old quilt. The quilt we seek out on a cold, rainy day when we want to settle in with a good book. Little moments including time with our pets or our morning walks. Any of those little moments which make us happy; favorite quotes or poems, time in our yards, listening to music. It all counts.

I begin with a grid of different colored squares collaged on a panel. (Similar looking to a quilt.) Then I add layers of paint and more collage until the desired effect is achieved. Sometimes I cover the piece in epoxy resin and then, once completely dry, I  sand it down to give it more depth and a unique waxy-looking finish.
